Frequently asked questions

A quick guide to accounts, imports, privacy, friends, and the details that are easy to wonder about.
Can I use Dramaddict without an account?

Yes. You can browse the catalogue, title and people pages, and play Cast Chain while signed out. An account is needed to keep a library, diary, profile, friends, and synced preferences.

What does the MyDramaList importer copy?

It copies titles, statuses, ratings, and available episode progress into your library. It does not create diary entries and it never asks for your MyDramaList password. Your public MDL username is used only to read the public list you request.

What is the difference between Completed and a Diary log?

Completed is a Library status: it marks a title as finished, sets its episode progress, and makes it count toward your completed-title statistics. A Diary log is a dated record of when you finished it, with an optional rating, note, and rewatch marker. One title has one current Library status, but it can have multiple Diary logs if you complete it again. Choosing Completed opens the optional Diary step; MDL imports update the Library without creating Diary logs.

Who can see my profile?

You choose. A profile can be public, visible to friends, or private. You can also control whether visitors see your diary, ratings, statistics, and friends.

How are friend compatibility scores calculated?

Compatibility compares the titles you have both watched, started or finished, with separate drama and movie views. Ratings are not part of the calculation.

Does Dramaddict store my password?

Dramaddict uses Supabase Auth. The app never receives or stores a readable password; Supabase stores a salted bcrypt hash and handles sign-in sessions.

How old do I need to be?

At least 13, or older if your country sets a higher minimum age for online services. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission to use an account.

How do I change my email, download my data, or delete my account?

Open Account and scroll to the Account section of Profile studio. Changing your email sends a confirmation link to the new address, and the change applies once you open it. Download gives you a JSON file with your profile, library, diary, and friends. Deleting your account removes it and everything in it straight away, and cannot be undone.

How do I report a profile or content?

Signed-in members can use the Report button on any profile. Anyone, with or without an account, can use the report page.

What happens if my account is suspended?

A suspended account can no longer sign in or use its library, diary, friends, or profile. To ask why, appeal the decision, or get a copy of your data, email dramaddict.support@gmail.com from the address on the account.

How do I contact Dramaddict?

Email dramaddict.support@gmail.com for help, account problems, privacy requests, appeals, and legal notices.

What counts in Cast Chain?

Live-action Korean dramas count, using Korean screen actors and their credited cast connections. Movies, animation, voice roles, and variety shows are excluded. Any valid chain wins, and each daily challenge stays available in the archive.
